Gold and Sullivan voted to never open it.

I like that we have taken this stance.

What would be nice is for the English clubs to make it known that they will not sell any player to a foreign club after this date.

I know business is business but if they all stick to it then they may be able to bring it in Europe wide.

I do not understand why the summer window can't close on the 1st August for everyone. then we get all clubs with their squads for a pre season and it is all done. seems very simple to me.

Be a good idea if you could only change your manager in the transfer window as well.

Yeah right, I get you.

Not so sure now. Sort of compromises the English clubs for the reasons you state.

That's my understand, but I may well be wrong.
But I thought once our window shuts, we are no longer able to buy, but can still sell to foreign teams whose window is still open.

I assumed that once our window closes then players from English clubs are no longer on the market.

So are you saying English clubs can no longer buy but can sell to clubs from countries who's window is still open?

That's not right surely??

Step in the right direction, but as it stands I don't think it helps the smaller clubs.
Imagine PSG come in for Lanzini after our window shuts and offer £100m. G&S are accepting that all day long, but we then cannot get a replacement in. As madeeasy said, should be across the board, which unfortunately I cant see happening.

I think Watford, who were said to be voting against it, said they were doing so as it was unfair with all european clubs, who wouldn't be doing the same. plus world cup year etc.

i feel that it should be 1st august across Europe and then it is a level playing field.

but a step in the right direction.

Sensible decision.
